Divine Extrapolations (2)

16 Then two women who were harlots came to the king and stood before him. 17 The one woman said, “Oh, my lord, this woman and I live in the same house; and I gave birth to a child while she wasin the house. 18 “It happened on the third day after I gave birth, that this woman also gave birth to a child, and we were together. There was no stranger with us in the house, only the two of us in the house. 19 “This woman’s son died in the night, because she lay on it. 20 “So she arose in the middle of the night and took my son from beside me while your maidservant slept, and laid him in her bosom, and laid her dead son in my bosom. 21 “When I rose in the morning to nurse my son, behold, he was dead; but when I looked at him carefully in the morning, behold, he was not my son, whom I had borne.” 22 Then the other woman said, “No! For the living one is my son, and the dead one is your son.” But the first woman said, “No! For the dead one is your son, and the living one is my son.” Thus they spoke before the king. 23 Then the king said, “The one says, ‘This is my son who is living, and your son is the dead one’; and the other says, ‘No! For your son is the deaad one, and my son is the living one.’” (1 Kings 3:16-23)

Bring your heart into full alignment and keep it in harmony with the written Word. In an era when many claim to hear God’s voice audibly, we must stress the importance of respecting the written Word. When you apply the wisdom God has placed within the written word, He grants you wisdom beyond what is written. Let us explore some divine insights.

Applying the wisdom from the written word enables clear insight into challenges. The story of Solomon and the two women (1 Kings 3:16-23) illustrates this: Solomon was able to discern the real issue because he relied on divine wisdom. The lesson is that God’s written word provides clarity in complex situations.

When you exercise the wisdom within the written word, God grants you the wisdom to speak the proposal conscientiously. The king said, Get me a sword. So they brought a sword before the king. The king said, Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one and half to the other (1 Kings 3:24-25). Without God’s wisdom, how could Solomon in good conscience have suggested splitting the child in half?

When you exercise the wisdom within the written word, God grants you the wisdom to make the pronouncement confidently. Then the woman whose child was the living one spoke to the king, for she was deeply stirred over her son and said, Oh, my lord, give her the living child, and by no means kill him. But the other said, He shall be neither mine nor yours; divide him! Then the king said, Give the first woman the living child, and by no means kill him. She is his mother (1 Kings 3:26-27). There was no doubt in Solomon’s mind about who the child’s mother was. Would you like to go through life with that much confidence? Trust the written word, and you can.

When you apply the wisdom within the written Word, He grants you wisdom beyond what is written. Wisdom is so important because it is the key that opens the door to blessings.

God grants you wisdom through what He guides you to think, read, and hear. Yes, through these means, He places thoughts, reflections, and introspections into your conscious and conscience mind.

God wants you to bring your life into full compliance with the written Word. Document from within scripture the principle that speaks to your situation. Extrapolate an application that is consistent with the written Word.

The principle from this Old Testament story is also your New Testament. Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance? (Romans 2:4). God’s graciousness should lead you to repentance. His graciousness is not an excuse for remaining out of compliance, but an incentive to come into full compliance. You must bring your life into full alignment with the written Word to continue experiencing God’s full favor.
